MULTAN, May 11: A three-day Pak-Malaysia mango festival will be held in the city in mid-July to bring under spotlight the Pakistani fruit known for its unique taste and aroma.
“All arrangements have been finalised in collaboration with Pak-Malaysia Cultural Centre, Multan, to organise the event titled Pak-Malaysia mango cultural festival,” said District Nazim Mian Faisal Mukhtar in a meeting.
Cultural centre’s CEO Javedur Rehman, and festival’s project director Sheikh Fayyaz gave a briefing to the district nazim on the occasion.
It would be an historical show to be attended by Malaysian traders, industrialists, artists and singers, besides people related to agriculture sector from Malaysia and Pakistan, the nazim said. The EDO (community development), the focal person for the event, was directed to prepare a list of delegates who would attend the festival.
The festival would help boost exports of mango and kinnoo from Multan, Mr Mukhtar said. —APP
