Fine fifties by Khurram and Sarfraz


KARACHI, May 3: Fine knocks by Khurram Manzoor and Sarfraz Ahmed helped their respective teams to victories in the KCCA Centenary Inter-club cricket tournament on Tuesday.

Khurram slammed four boundaries in his 63 as Malir Gymkhana thrashed Mohammad Hussain CC by seven wickets at the Landhi Gymkhana ground.

Earlier, Khurram claimed two wickets with his brisk medium-pacers as Mohammad Hussain CC were dismissed for 166.

Wajihuddin hit 53 with five fours for losers.

Pakistan vice-captain Younis Khan led Malir Gymkhana but did not bat. But he made his presence felt by taking two catches and accounting for two run outs.

Rashid Hanif smashed a dashing 40 laced with four fours and two sixes for winners.

In the other match at the TMC Ground, Sarfraz made 54 with the aid of four boundaries and left-arm spinner Nauman Alvi captured three for 36 in Pakistan CC's three-wicket victory against Al-Noor Gymkhana.
