Corruption case against officials recommended

SUKKUR May 2: The anti-corruption committee, Sukkur, has recommended lodging of FIRs under different sections, against 16 officers and officials of the revenue, police, education and other departments. This was decided at a meeting of the committee held under the chairmanship of the District Coordination Officer of Sukkur, Mr Shafiq Khoso, here on Tuesday. The committee scrutinised cases of officials involved in corruption.

In all 25 cases were put before the committee members against police, revenue, registration department and one each of the education and the forest, while the majority of the cases were condoned and referred back to departments concerned for inquiries.

The committee decided to register cases against Mukhtiarkar of Sukkur, Sirajuddin Shaikh, City Surveyor Ghulam Hyder Lakho, Sub-Registrar Mushtaque Ahmed, Miss Kaneez Fatima of the Education Department, Sub-Inspector of Police Ghulam Sarwar Dreho, Sub-Inspector of Police Zulfiqar Ali Soomro, Assistant Sub-Inspector Shaukat Arain, Head Constable Mohammad Rafique Kalwar, Head Constable Mohammad Ilyas Indhar, Head Constable Hafiz Saeed Ahmed, WPC Ghous Bux Shaikh, Police Constable Muneer Ahmed Mohtim, Police Constable Faiz Mohammad, Police Constable Ali Mohammad, Police Constable Punhal Chang and Forest Guard Nazir Ahmed Samiar.

The committee also ordered prosecution of accused Sub-Registrar Sukkur Wali Muhammad Shaikh and others in the court of law.

The committee ordered departmental action against Inspector Aijaz Tareen, Sub-Inspector of Police Anwar Bhutto, Assistant Sub-Inspector Sahib Dino Narejo, Assistant Sub-Inspector Khair Mohammad Chachar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Lal Mohammad and others.
