ABU DHABI, April 29: Chairman of Pakistan Armed Forces’ Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen Ehsanul Haq, who is on a three-day official visit to Abu Dhabi, signed a defence cooperation agreement with the UAE.
Gen Ehsanul Haq arrived in Abu Dhabi on Friday, where he was accorded a warm welcome by senior officials of the UAE’s armed forces and the ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE Ahsanullah Khan.
Gen Ehsanul Haq offered fateha at the grave of Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Later, he called on the UAE’s Chief of Army Staff Gen Hamad Mohammad Thani Airumaithy.
During talks, Gen Ehsanul Haq and Lt-Gen Mohammad Thani expressed satisfaction over the existing bilateral relations and discussed ways and means to strengthen these links.
Later, Gen Ehsanul Haq and Gen Hamad signed a defence cooperation agreement between Pakistan and the UAE.
General Ehsanul Haq said that the agreement would give tremendous boost to the defence ties between the two countries.—APP
