MUMBAI, April 29: Former India hockey goalkeeper Shankar Laxman, who was part of two Olympic hockey triumphs in 1956 and 1964, died on Saturday, officials said.

Laxman, 72, regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers in the game, played in three successive Olympics finals from 1956.

He was part of the silver medal-winning team in the 1960 Olympics, where India lost to traditional rivals Pakistan. —Reuters
