Woman allowed to live with husband

KHAIRPUR, April 29: Police along with some residents conducted a raid on the house of brother-in-law of Rais Mian Qureshi on Saturday and demanded that a woman Shabana Parveen be handed over to them.

The people protested against the act and reported the matter to Khairpur DPO Javed Jiskani on telephone who sent the SHO A-section police station along with woman police.

Shabana Parveen threatened that if she was handed over to her relatives she would commit suicide.

According to A-section SHO Javed Farooqui, Shabana was first brought to the A-section police station where she gave statement that she had married Rais Mian Qureshi of her own free will.

She was later produced in the court of sessions judge where she gave the same statement.

After her statement, the court allowed her to live with her husband and his family.

The police left her at the home of Rais Mian Qureshi.
