Protest held against loadshedding

By Our Correspondent

LAKKI MARWAT, April 29: People of Tajori and other adjacent villages on Saturday blocked traffic for two hours on the Indus Highway at Malang Adda to protest against prolonged loadshedding and low power voltage.

Protesters, led by Tajori union council nazim Maulana Asghar Ali and others reached Malang Adda and placed boulders and tree trunks in the middle of the road to block traffic.

They chanted slogans against Pesco deputy manager (operation) and held him responsible for the power related problems.

The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) had resorted to prolonged loadshedding in the district in order to control line losses.

Addressing the protesters Maulana Asghar Ali, Ajmal Khan of the ANP, councillors Alam Khan and Sahib Jan and president of the All Shopkeepers Union Tajori Haji Abdul Qayyum criticised Pesco staff for resorting to more than 15-hour loadshedding on daily basis.
