HYDERABAD: Dist to install generators at pumping stations
Bureau Report
HYDERABAD, April 29: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil said on Friday the district would install generators at all the pumping stations to ensure uninterrupted supply of water to people and save them from unnecessary nuisance caused by frequent power-breakdowns.
The Rs100 million project would be inaugurated on Monday, he said in his address to the inauguration ceremony for a water reservoir with a capacity of 100,000 gallons in Amani Shah Colony, Unit No 11, Latifabad on Friday.
He said that the power breakdowns, which occurred frequently and for prolonged hours during summer season, caused the entire water supply and drainage systems to paralyse completely.
He said with the construction of reservoir residents of Amani Shah Colony would now get water for four hours instead of 30 minutes per day they were receiving previously.
Besides this one, the district had decided to build another reservoir of 300,000 gallons capacity in Ghazali College Latifabad.
