KARACHI, April 29: Five ships carrying steel cargo and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six ships, Samos, to offload chemicals, Dina Queen, Malakand to unload and load general cargo, Delta Ranger to offload coal, Maersk Alabama, to unload and load containers and Judi Muhieddine to load rice were berthed after the departure of three.

The ships, which departed included Calvin P. Titus, Bao Fu Man and Swat, while Adhiaya, Dina Queen, Maersk Alabama, Hanjin Busan, Iron Butterfly, Iran Baadaei and Electra-1 are due to sail out on Sunday.

A total tonnage of 97,818 tons comprising 21,534 tons of export cargo including 2,210 tons of rice and 76,284 tons of import tonnage, which also included 5,366 tons of sugar was handled.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Kota Teraju, Bunga Kaneri, Thor Captain, to unload and load containers, Pacific Emerald and African Pai to offload steel consignments.

The following ships are due on Monday: Y.M. Mondego, with containers and Dubai Gold to load 15,000 tons of rice.
