KARACHI, April 28: The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) will favourably consider allocating land for building an international standard cricket stadium in the upcoming DHA-II scheme on Super Highway if approached by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA).

The announcement was made by DHA administrator, Brig Maqsood Hussain, during prize distribution ceremony of the Inter-Department tournament held the other day.

DHA official said his organisation was actively involved in promoting sports in the city and would continue to support sporting activities in the country.

DHA lifted the trophy beating Pak PWD.

Hosts Naseem Khan who scored a brilliant unbeaten 123 in the final was voted best batsman as well as the Man-of-the-Final.

His teammate Atif Maqbool was declared the best bowler of the tournament.

DHA received Rs25,000 and the coveted trophy while Pak PWD got Rs15,000 and the runners up trophy.—Agencies
