ISLAMABAD, April 28: The government on Friday assured journalists in the National Assembly that the Seventh Wage Board Award would be implemented and eighth wage board would be constituted at the earliest.

The assurance was given by the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Mr Kamil Ali Agha, following a token walk-out by journalists covering the lower house proceedings.

Earlier, Mr Agha met the protesting journalists in the press room and informed them that Pakistan Muslim League president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain was keen on resolving the wage award issue and had directed the newly-inducted Minister Information Mohammad Ali Durrani to take the issue as his first priority.
