Pemra asked to keep check on channels

ISLAMABAD, Apr 27: The National Assembly standing committee on cabinet secretariat has expressed concern over what it said unethical and anti-cultural programmes being shown by some TV channels and cable operators.

In its meeting on Thursday, the committee asked Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to kep check and take action against those channel owners and cable operators who violate the Pemra rules and regulations.

Minister of state for law, human rights and justice Malik Allayar Khan, MNAs Shanid Akram Bhinder, Abdul Majeed Pirzada, Mohammad Faiz Tamman, Samia Raheel Qazi, Abid Ali Ummang. Ahmad Raza Maneka chaired the meeting.
