HYDERABAD, April 26: The Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board, Shaharyar M. Khan has suspended the membership of District Cricket Association, Hyderabad, and appointed a three-member ad hoc committee with Abdul Majeed Khan as its chairman and Akbar Khan Durrani and Dr Saifullah Khan as its members.

The PCB chief, in his letter issued on Tuesday, suspended the membership of DCA Hyderabad and appointed an ad hoc committee under Article 37 and 38 of the PCB Constitution.

According to PCB chief, the affairs of DCA Hyderabad were not being managed in accordance with the PCB constitution and the conduct of DCA Hyderabad is derogatory and repugnant to the aim and objects of the cricket board.

“The DCA no longer fulfils the qualification for membership and has failed to abide by the undertaking given by it under Article 13 of the constitution,” he said and added that it is therefore necessary and deemed expedient by the PCB to impose an ad hoc committee to manage the affairs of the DCA interalia on the following grounds:

1. That complaints from various cricket clubs of Hyderabad district have been received regarding mismanagement and misconduct of the present office bearers. They have also requested to impose ad hoc so that the affairs of DCA Hyderabad could run smoothly.

2. That there have been very serious allegations of nepotism, misconduct and financial irregularities against the office bearers.

3. That the office bearers have flouted with impunity the provisions of the Constitution of the PCB, its directions and reservations.

4. There is a serious rift between the secretary and president of the association and as a result cricket of DCA Hyderabad is suffering.

5. That numerous meetings have been convened by the RDO Hyderabad Region to resolve the issue but the present office bearers have failed to get united and work for the promotion of cricket.—APP
