Watchman strangled to death

FAISALABAD, April 26: Unidentified persons strangled to death a watchman of Jamaat-i-Islami’s local office and took away Rs250,000 in cash from the lockers here on Tuesday night.

Reports said the watchman, Ghulam Mustafa (50), was on duty at the Al-Markazul Islami at Chiniot Bazaar, when some unknown persons barged into the office and strangled him to death.

The outlaws broke open the office lockers and took away the cash.

Kotwali police, on Wednesday morning, came to know about the incident and sent the watchman’s body for autopsy.

The police took five employees of the office into custody and started investigation.
