The police quoted the brother of the suicide victim as saying that Farhanullah had been in distress since he came back from Saudi Arabia, which drove him to commit suicide.

Similarly, Safia Bibi, 29, committed suicide by hanging herself in her house in the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town police.

Police said Safia had been disturbed for some time due to domestic unrest. She was found hanging with a rope tied to the ceiling of her room.

In the third incident, a grocery shopkeeper was shot dead by his employee in the Airport police area, police said.

Shakeel Ahmed Abbasi, owner of a grocery shop in Gulzar-i- Quaid, taunted his employee Shabir on finding some cash missing, which led to a quarrel, during which the latter pulled out a pistol and shot the former.

In another incident, a schoolboy, identified as Umair Yousuf, was killed after falling from the rooftop of a commercial plaza in Sadiqabad area. The cause of the incident is being investigated by the police.
