KARACHI, April 26: Three ships with to load and unload containers, rice and edible oil were berthed at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, three more ships with containers and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 78 per cent as seven ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, canola seeds, edible oil, chemicals, crude oil and iron ore.

Cargo handling activity was brisk at the wharves where a total tonnage of 87,869 tons comprising 75,323 tons of import cargo and 12,546 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Tai King, Moro and Yanaseni left the port while Nedlloyd Muscat and Onozo were due to depart.

Eight ships, Baravia Express, Indonesia Star, Bulk Phoneix, Kudam, Samho Horn, Keefan, Mykali and Angeliki-D, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
