KARACHI, April 25: Former Test stars Mansoor Akhtar and Aamir Sohail hit scintillating half centuries as Pakistan Seniors defeated India Seniors by seven wickets to level the four-match one-day series at the Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot on Tuesday.
Mansoor unleashed 10 fours and three sixes during his unbeaten 84 off 68 balls as the home team raced to victory by scoring 255 for three with as many as seven overs to spare.
But Aamir Sohail, the ex-Test skipper, outshone Mansoor by clubbing 12 boundaries on his way to a whirlwind 60 off just 36 deliveries while dominating the opening stand of 81 with Nadeem Abbasi (25).
Ghaffar Kazmi also passed the 50-mark. He made 51 off 47 balls with six fours and one six and helped Mansoor in a third-wicket partnership of 99.
Earlier, India Seniors owed their total of 251 for nine in 40 overs to good contributions from Manoj Prabhakar and Amarjeet Singh Kapypee after being asked to bat first.
Prabhakar, the ex-Test all-rounder, struck an 82-ball 68, including nine hits to the ropes while Kaypee scored 65 off 70 balls with the aid of eight fours.
