Show-cause notices issued

GILGIT, April 25: The health department on Monday issued show-cause notices to 12 doctors, two of them lady doctors, who had been absent from duty for a long time.

The doctors have been directed to respond to the notice within three months or face disciplinary action.

Official sources said the health department had submitted a summary to the regional chief secretary for initiating further procedures as the said doctors had either settled abroad or had been doing job working somewhere else in the country and had not resumed their duties after expiry of their sanctioned leave.
