Musharraf calls for intensive training

RAWALPINDI, April 25: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has termed Artillery a vital component of Pakistan Army and praised the Artillery Corps’ preparedness to meet the challenges of modern warfare.

The president was speaking at biennial artillery exercises at Nowshera Cantt. According to an ISPR release issued here on Tuesday Gen Musharraf stressed upon the need for intensive training of all ranks.

He also appreciated the development plans to remain abreast with the requirements of future battlefield. He expressed his satisfaction with standards of training and preparedness of the Corps of Artillery.

The exercises were attended by Lieutenant General Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Colonel Commandant Corps of Artillery, Lieutenant General Mohammad Hamid Khan, Corps Commander Peshawar and other senior military officials.
