PESHAWAR, April 23: People of Mathra union council have threatened to block roads and hold a protest demonstration if their demand of electricity supply to the area from the Peshawar feeder is not fulfilled.
Speakers said at a meeting attended by hundreds of people of the area presided over by UC Nazim Jehanzeb Khan that they faced loadshedding for long periods because of power5 supply from the Warsak feeder.
Provincial Minister Hafiz Hashmat Khan was also present.
The speakers claimed that according to official documents the area should be connected to the Peshawar feeder.
They threatened that local people would hold a protest demonstration and block roads if their demand was not met by Monday.
The minister assured the participants of the meeting that the provincial government would try its best to ensure that the demand was met by the Water and Power Development Authority.—Correspondent
