Ornaments ‘stolen’ at airport


RAWALPINDI, April 23: A family found its gold ornaments and other valuables ‘stolen’ on reaching Islamabad International Airport from China on Saturday, the security officials said.

Noman Khan, a resident of Karachi, arrived on flight Cj-6005 along with nine family members. On collecting his baggage at the international arrival lounge, he found his suitcases opened up and valuables stolen.

The sources said the complainant listed the stolen goods as one wrist worth $700, two gold rings and a gold set valued at Rs40,000.

According to security officials, the police have been involved in the investigation into the theft case.

The victim claimed that he had properly locked his suitcases. Later, the family left for Karachi.—Staff Reporter
