ISLAMABAD, April 22: During the first phase five heads of Senate standing and functional committees were elected here on Saturday.

Accordingly to a statement, senators Kalsoom Perveen, Chaudhry Mohammad Anwar Bhinder, Mir Wali Mohammad Badini, S.M. Zafar and Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi were unanimously elected chairpersons of committees on narcotics control, government assurances, problems of less developed areas, human rights and rules of procedure and privileges respectively.
