KARACHI, April 21: Six ships carrying containers and to load molasses are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Conti Esperance, Eric G Gibbon and Thor Captain to unload and load containers, and Dream Angel to offload vehicles were berthed after the departure of as many.

The ships, which departed included Ohen Hua-7, Hyundai Highway, Y M Sun, and Kuo Hung, while Eric G Gibbon, Emerald Sea, Shalamar, Sargodha, MOL Kauri, Conti Esperance and Rising Sun are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity on the wharves was on the higher side owing to larger handling of liquid tonnage and totalled 0.149m tons comprising 26,337 tons of export cargo including 9,116 tons of rice and 0.123m tons of import cargo including 3,487 tons of sugar.

The ships due on Saturday are : Stolt Alliance, with chemicals, Olympics-1 to load 13,500 tons of molasses, Iran Shaharyar, Maersk Alabama, with containers, Marine Blue and Wise King, with steel cargo.
