GUJRANWALA, April 19: Teachers of a Kamoki girls school, including the principal, boycotted the classes on Wednesday to protest against the police raid at the school and misbehaving with them.

Reports said a teacher had beaten up a girl for not completing homework. The student informed to her parents who got her medico-legal certificate from civil hospital and approached the police for legal action against the teacher. A police team reportedly raided the school and allegedly humiliated teachers in the presence of the principal. Later the teaching staff boycotted the classes and demanded action against the police officials who entered the school without permission of the principal.

They vowed to continue boycott of academic activities till action against the police officials.

SUICIDE: A girl committed suicide by taking poison over marriage issue at Garjakh here on Wednesday.

Reports said ‘A’ swallowed poisonous pills when she came to know that her parents wanted to arrange her marriage against her choice. She died on way to civil hospital.

Police have handed over her body to the family after autopsy.
