SAHIWAL, April 19: Civil lines police on Wednesday booked the son of a retired DSP and his accomplices for allegedly killing ruling PML district vice-president on Tuesday.
The case was registered on the report of son of the deceased PML leader.
Reports said two masked men had shot dead Sardar Muhammad Ali Khan Gadhi on Tuesday when he was coming out of the office of a mobile company at Five Ways Chowk.
On the report of Mr Gadhi’s son Shahid Imran, the police registered the case against Fakhar Jahan, son of ex-DSP Jahan Khan, his accomplice Mazharur Mazhari and uncle Mehr Amir Khan Lashari. The ex-police officer is undergoing a jail term awarded by an accountability court.
Fakhar Jahan had opened fire on a polling station during local polls last year, killing some minors. Police could not arrest him and had declared him as proclaimed offender.
ESCAPE: Four people allegedly involved in a murder attempt case escaped from the court of additional district and sessions judge on cancellation of their pre-arrest bails here on Wednesday.
Reports said accused — Raheel Rahi, Zulfiqar, Muhammad Khan Junejo and Basharat — had attacked Khwaja Muhammad Hafiz Qadri of PPP at his office on March 27.
