Published April 19, 2006

ISLAMABAD, April 18: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said the economic recovery achieved by the country as a result of the success of the government’s reforms agenda has enabled the government to provide relief to the common man and improve the standard of life of people belonging to less privileged sections of society.

He observed this while talking to federal ministers and MNAs belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League and Allied parties which called on him on Tuesday in his chamber at the National Assembly and discussed the overall political and economic situation of the country and development projects of their constituencies.

He claimed that the success of economic reforms and investment-friendly policies of the government had restored the confidence of investors and investments were at an all-time high.

He also claimed that economic activities generated as a result of high growth and investment had led to creation of jobs and unemployment was decreasing.

Mr Aziz said that in the next budget the government would allocate more funds to the Khushal Pakistan Programme for further uplifting the social sector.

He asked the parliamentarians to serve the people with commitment and enhance contact with the people of their constituencies to solve their problems.—Online
