LAHORE, April 18: Three goals by Ahmed Ali Tiwana helped WKF beat Police 6- 5 1/2 in the Novices Cup polo on Tuesday.

Ibrahim Akbar drew first blood for WKF scoring a field goal to reduce the handicap lead of 1 1/2 of police to half -goal in the first chukker.

Ahmed opened his account while two-goal Junaid Ahmed struck first as WKF came out with 3- 2 1/2 lead in the second chukker. Three-goal Mujahid Omar Khan scored a goal for the losers.

The third chukker saw WKF consolidate the lead 5-3 1/2 as Ahmed scored back-to-back goals.

Mujahid banged home for the losers.

In the start of the fourth chukker Junaid pumped in his second goal to increase the lead to 6-3 1/2. But Afzal Mahr and Mujahid tried to stage a comeback by scoring one goal each but they fell short of their target.

Three-goal Atif Tiwana enabled Candy Land Blues beat Diamond Paints 6-4.

Naveed M Sheikh (2) and Ali Ahsan Siddiqui (1) were the other scorers.

For the losers, Ashfaq (3) and Ashraf (1) were the scorers.
