Australia called up duo for ODIs

SYDNEY, April 18: Australia called up batsman Mark Cosgrove and paceman Brett Dorey on Tuesday to replace Damien Martyn and Stuart Clark in the upcoming one-day series against Bangladesh.

Cricket Australia said Martyn was returning home after an elbow injury that ruled him out of the one-day series, while Clark was already back in Sydney to be with his wife for the birth of their first child.

Cosgrove, 21, is a left-handed batsman who averages 41.12 for South Australia in domestic cricket and has never represented Australia before.

West Australian Dorey, 28, represented his country in three One-day Internationals against South Africa earlier this year, taking one wicket and conceding 134 runs

Meanwhile, Bangladesh have called up middle-order batsman Tushar Imran for the one-day series.

“Imran will replace spinner Manjural Islam Rana in a 14-man squad that completed a whitewash (4-0) against Kenya last month,” a spokesman for the Bangladesh Cricket Board said.

Imran has played 33 one-dayers and scored 523 runs with an average of 16.34. He last played against Sri Lanka in Colombo last year.

The first one-dayer will be played on April 23 in Chittagong.
