KARACHI, April 18: The City District Council of City District Government Karachi (CDGK) has adopted a resolution allowing to present the draft budget for the year 2006-2007 to the Finance and Planning Committee of the CDGK.

The resolution was adopted at a Council meeting, presided over by Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil on Tuesday.

At the meeting, Masood Mahmud and Attrat Akhtar presented a resolution stating “today’s meeting allows permission to City District Council Karachi to submit its draft budget for the year 2006-2007 to the Finance and Planning Committee of the City District Council.

“The members of the committee after receiving suggestions for the draft budget 2006-2007 by April 29, 2006, would present their recommendations in its report to City Council Naib Nazim Karachi by May 3 on which the council will review the same at its session to be held on May 6. The meeting decides that the Finance and Planning Committee if wants can co-opt any member of the City District Council in the committee”.

The members present in the Council Hall approved the resolution unanimously.

The Naib Nazim of the City District Council Nasreen Jalil, after adopting the resolution, announced the adjournment of the meeting till May 6.—APP
