KARACHI, April 18: Three ships carrying containers, diesel oil and chemicals were berthed at QICT, Fotco Terminal and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

In the meantime, two more ships with containers and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 89 per cent as eight ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, diesel oil, wheat, seeds, chemicals and iron Ore.

A cargo volume of 71,205 tons comprising 59,990 tons of import and 11,215 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was brisk as Diela, Hartland Point, Anette Kosan, Yellow Knife and Loch Lomond left the port while Torm Estrid was due to depart.

Four ships, Sealand Freedom, Nedlloyd Muscat, Al-Maqwa and Thor Skipper, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
