ABU DHABI, April 17: President Gen Pervez Musharraf arrived here on Monday to watch the first of two one-day cricket matches between India and Pakistan.

“President Musharraf arrived here today to watch the first ODI,” Abu Dhabi Cricket Council president B. R. Shetty was quoted as saying by the Indian news agency PTI.

Mr Shetty said UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan would also watch the match to be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

BCCI President Sharad Pawar and Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel will also watch the match being played to raise funds for victims of the October earthquake in India and Pakistan.

A number of Indian film actors are also expected to watch the match. Salman Khan has already arrived here to attend in a charity dinner tonight.—Online
