Baloch lawyers demand due representation in judiciary

QUETTA, April 17: Former Balochistan Bar Association vice-president Mohammad Sadiq Raisani has demanded that Baaloch lawyers should be given due representation in the judiciary.
Speaking at a press conference at the press club here on Monday, he said Baloch lawyers who had qualified the Public Service Commission examinations had not been recruited to fill vacant posts of sessions and additional sessions judges.
He claimed that posts of legal advisers in banks, firms and departments had been given to selected lawyers.
He maintained that according to the Balochistan Bar Council Act, one lawyer could retain two posts of legal advisers but it was not being fully enforced.
He appealed to the Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court that vacancies in the judiciary should be filled on the basis of district quota.
