Bird flu: emergency at PIMS


ISLAMABAD, April 17: An emergency has been declared at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences after the outbreak of bird flu was confirmed in a poultry farm in Sihala near here.

An isolated ward has been set up at the PIMS and special attire and essential equipment have been provided to the staff of the ward.

The confirmation of the virus attack at the farm in Sihala has alarmed area people and they have started culling their chicken as a precautionary measure.—Online
