Lifters leave for Tashkent

LAHORE, April 17: A five-member Pakistan squad leaves for Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Tuesday to participate in the 7th Asian Senior club weightlifting championship starting from April 20 to 24.

The team comprises four players and a coach-cum-manager.

The secretary of the Pakistan Weightlifting Federation, Hafiz Imran Butt, said that the team was quite capable of winning medals. He said a tough competition was expected from Kazakhstan, India, Uzbekistan, China and Iran. The squad will return on April 26.

Team: Matiur Rehman (69kgs class), Khurram Shehzad (85 kg), Humayun Butt (94 kg); Zaheeruddin Malik (105kg).

Coach-cum-manager: Mohammad Aslam.
