KARACHI, April 17: Three ships with containers and edible oil were berthed at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday. Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy rose to 89 per cent as nine ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil, furnace oil, wheat/soybean and iron ore.

A cargo 68,960 tons comprising 56,850 tons of import and 12,110 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Oocl, Ambition, Kudam and Docomo left the port. Three ships, Torm Estrid, Diela and Thor Skipper, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.

Nedlloyd Muscat, Al-Maqwa and Toro with containers, diesel oil and iron ore were due to arrive at the port.
