CHANGZHOU (China), April 16: Pakistan face England on Monday in a crucial hockey match of their group in a bid to qualify World Cup in September.

Pakistan have so far secured seven points from three matches and are behind Belgium. England lead the group with nine points from three impressive victories in the event.

While facing England, Pakistan have to finish among the top two in the group, adding three more points to strengthen their chances of a place in the World Cup.

Admitting a hopeless performance of his players in the last three matches, the team manager Saeed Khan said they are determined to fight back.

Pakistan have left with no option but to win the remaining two matches against England and Ireland.

”We are ready to fight till last minute,” Saeed said.

New Zealand and South Korea have already managed to secure two top positions in their group.

The day will start with a Japan-Korea match.—APP
