No change in Sindh govt

Published April 14, 2006

ISLAMABAD, April 13: A high-level meeting attended by President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz decided that no administrative change would take place in Sindh in the wake of recent events.

At the meeting, according to sources, President Musharraf said the planned expansion of the federal cabinet should be done on merit and members with strong political influence should be preferred.

The president said the people who could play a role in ensuring the party’s success in the next general elections, should be included in the cabinet.

The sources said that President Musharraf also directed that the Pakistan Muslim League should not be formed in Azad Kashmir to avoid any negative implications.—Online
