GUJRANWALA, April 13: The district council meeting ripped to shreds the police and Wasa for not controlling the crime and providing better facilities, respectively, to the people.

The meeting was presided over by district naib nazim Jamal Hassan Manj here on Thursday while nazims of union councils exposed the performance of the two departments.

The Wasa, they blamed, had failed to resolve problems of the public and virtually became a while elephant.

The meeting was informed that the criteria of the citizen community board was being improved to get completed uplift projects.

It asked the health department to check the sale of spurious medicines at medical stores and hospitals. The meeting also condemned the Karachi incident and offered fateha for the deceased.
