ISLAMABAD, April 10: Eid Miladun Nabi (peace be upon him) is being celebrated across the country on Tuesday with religious enthusiasm and solemnity. A two-day international Seerat conference will be held at the Jinnah convention centre here in which prominent ulema and scholars from all over the country and abroad will present their papers.
Seerat conferences in provincial capitals will be inaugurated by governors and at the divisional and district levels by religious scholars.
Competitions highlighting the life of Holy Prophet (pbuh) will also be organised by provincial governments and educational institutions.
The religious affairs ministry will conduct following competitions to spread the teachings of Holy Prophet (pbuh):
Seerat books competition in national, regional and foreign languages, Na’at book competitions, Islamic books written by female scholars, Muqalat-i-Seerat, and journals/magazines issuing special Seerat numbers.
Similar competitions will be organised by provincial governments and educational institutions.
Important government and private buildings, mosques and streets across the country have been decorated with lights, green flags, colourful buntings and banners welcoming the festive day.
The national flag will be hoisted on all public buildings. There will be a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salute in provincial capitals at the dawn of the day.—APP
