Daska SMEs seek loan package

Published April 11, 2006

SIALKOT, April 10: More than 450 small and medium industrial units of Daska have not been provided with soft-term loan facilities. This was said by Agricultural Implements Manufacturers Association President Mirza Munawar Husain while talking to the press here on Monday.

He said the SME bank had not yet announced any suitable loan package for Daska-based small and medium enterprises as a result of which the units could not modernise their industrial structure.

Mirza Munawar expressed his concern over the ‘step-motherly’ attitude of the SME bank and other financial institutions in this regard.

Welcoming the announcement of SBP Governor Dr Shamshad Akhtar regarding issuance of soft-term small industrial loans for the development of SMEs in the country, he urged her to ensure early implementation of the State Bank’s loan schemes.
