Proposals sought for funding HR projects

ISLAMABAD, April 10: The delegation of European Commission to Pakistan on Monday launched its fourth annual call for proposals under the European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights micro projects programme.

According to a press release, the EC will make funding of 745,000 euro for approved projects.

It said the new call would invite applicants to respond to a set of priorities which included strengthening of civil society organizations in advocacy of the rights of the vulnerable groups and furthering related international instruments. Other priorities include reducing the occurrence of torture and supporting the victims of torture; enhancing education, training, monitoring, and awareness on human right and democratic issues; securing equal rights and treatment of persons and people belonging to minorities, irrespective of racial, ethnic, caste and religion; and conflict prevention.
