SWABI, April 9: Several public welfare projects costing over Rs42 million have been completed in the PF-35, the constituency f the provincial education minister, sources said. They said that the constituency includes the Zarobi village of the minister.
The sources said that the minister had promised Rs17.3 million for the Marghuz-Bamkhil road, Rs5.7 million for government high school in Kalabat besides sanctioning Rs6 million for the construction of a staff hostel for the government girls’ college in Marghuz.
The sources said that the hostel was an important project because women lecturers from far-flung areas faced an acute accommodation problem.
The sources said that there was an urgent need to rebuild government girls’ high school in Marghuz, which was in extremely bad shape. Sources said that the minister had pledged Rs8.6 million for its reconstruction.
A primary school would be built in the same area at a cost of Rs2.6 million, solving the problem of overcrowding in the only primary schoot there, the sources said.
The sources praised the minister’s commitment to his constituency and said he had done almost everything he had promised with the people of his constituency besides undertaking other projects in other areas of the district.
“There will be no lack of facilities in government education institutions”, said an official in the education department.
