ISLAMABAD, April 9: Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro said Pakistan had been a victim of terrorism for last over two decades, particularly since the occupation of Afghanistan by the Soviet forces in 1979. He was talking to a delegation of British students visiting Pakistan under “Experience Pakistan project” led by its director Christopher Thatcher.

Mr Soomro said Afghan Jihad was patronized by the West and people from different parts of the world came here to take part in the war. Pakistan suffered heavily due to the Afghan war, he said, adding that sectarian strife, spread of arms, heroin culture were the aftereffects of the Afghan war.
