KARACHI: Two shot dead

KARACHI, April 7: A former policeman was shot dead by unknown persons in Korangi on Friday. Police said that Raja Nazeer was a used-cars dealer. He was coming to work in his car when five persons on two motorcycles opened fire at him near Chiniot Hospital in the limits of Zaman Town police station.

He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he was pronounced dead. Police quoting area people said that the suspects were wearing helmets who managed to escape from the spot.

Police are investigating the matter but suspected some personal enmity as a possible motive behind the killing.

In Malir, a fruit seller was shot dead by unknown persons. Police said that Mohammad Nazakat, 34, was passing through the Liaquat Market when unknown persons on a motorcycle opened fire at him and fled.

Police said that the victim was a resident of Malir G-area.
