KARACHI, April 7: The ongoing conflict between Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim and former member of his cabinet Imtiaz Shaikh and his brother Maqbool Ahmed Shaikh came to an end on Thursday night.

The differences were resolved at the residence of Senate chairman Muhammadmian Soomro, who presided over the meeting, attended by Arbab Rahim, Imtiaz Shaikh, Maqbool Shaikh and Tariq Nasrullah Malik.

In a press release issued on Friday, ex-minister Imtiaz Shaikh and Maqbool Shaikh said that the decision was taken in the interest of the party and its workers and an agreement was reached to work together in future for the welfare of people of Sindh and betterment of PML and its workers.

“We and the chief minister have taken this decision in the best interest of province, its people and party workers. We have agreed to work jointly for the welfare of people and promotion of harmony in the province,” Imtiaz and Maqbool said.

The press release said that Chief Minister Arbab Rahim, Imtiaz Shaikh and Maqbool Shaikh discussed all the issues that created such a situation and resolved to work jointly maintaining pleasant atmosphere.—APP/PPI
