‘Education a provincial matter’

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, April 6: All Pakistan Professors and Lecturers’ Association (Appla) on Thursday asked the federal government to stop interfering in the educational matters of the provinces.

“There are indications that the provincial education departments are being dictated by the federal education ministry,” Appla office bearers told a press conference.

They contended that education was a provincial subject. Quoting certain statements of federal education minister and secretary, they said, it looked that the provinces’ right of deciding for themselves had been withdrawn.
