Foundation spent $30m on relief projects
MUZAFFARABAD, April 6: Pak-Turk Foundation has spent $30 million on various projects including reconstruction of 11 educational institutions and other relief and health related activities in quake-hit areas of AJK and NWFP.
This was stated by Ramzan Erdem, Coordinator of the Foundation at a briefing to Pakistani and Turkish media team during the visit of a completed school/collage project here on Thursday.
Turkish engineers, consultant and other experts were also present.
Mr Ramzan said seven projects including construction of six schools and collages be completed in the areas, while another project of AJK University, old campus, which is also being reconstructed in Muzaffarabad.
He said that four schools buildings were being built in Balakot and Mansehra areas of NWFP.
The work on the reconstruction of educational projects in AJK had been completed and the six colleges and schools would be handed over to the education department authorities by the end of current month, he added.
Besides educational projects, medical facilities were also being made available to the victims in different areas through mobile teams and in the three tented villages established in the outskirts of Muzaffarabad, adding some 25,000 survivors were also provided medical services so far as he said some six tons medicines were also provided to the patients.—APP
