Bandit arrested after encounter

KHAIRPUR, April 5: A man allegedly involved in killing three people of the Lal Bux Kohlar village was arrested after an encounter on Tuesday night. Khairpur DPO Javed Jiskani told newsmen on Wednesday that Hameed Kalhoro was a bandit and he was arrested by police after an encounter on Tuesday night in kutcha area of Kingri taluka.

According to the DPO, the arrested bandit has confessed that he along with other dacoits namely Ali Gul Junejo, Ali Khan Jatoi, Shamso Junejo and Dodo Machhi kidnapped three growers namely Mohammad Chhuttal Kohlar, Ghous Kohlar and Imdad Kohlar on Sept 17, 2002, near the Lal Bux Kohlar village, Kingri taluka and added that on the same day, all the three hostages were killed by bandit Ali Gul Junejo and others and their bodies were thrown into the Indus River.

The DPO claimed that bandit Hameed Kalhoro was coming along with other bandits from the Bagarji forest to Khairpur on Tuesday night to commit crime.

He said that near the Jalbani machine, kutcha area, police surrounded them and after an encounter, which lasted for half an hour, Hameed Kalhoro was arrested.
