Hewitt confident

SYDNEY, April 4: Australia's Lleyton Hewitt insists he is close to getting back to his best form despite dropping out of the top 10 and failing to win a tournament for over a year. Talking to newsmen after Tuesday's practice for this weekend's Davis Cup quarter-final against Belarus, Hewitt said he was confident of ending his prolonged slump.

“The top guys still have to play pretty hard to beat me and if I keep putting myself in that situation, if I keep practising hard, hopefully the tide will turn,” he said.

Hewitt last won a tournament in January 2005 and was bundled out in the second round of this year's Australian Open by Juan Ignacio Chela.—AFP
