Hohns quits

SYDNEY, April 4: Australia's chairman of selectors Trevor Hohns announced on Tuesday he was quitting to concentrate on business interests. Cricket Australia said they had not appointed a successor but a replacement would be found soon. Andrew Hilditch, Merv Hughes and David Boon are the other selectors.

Hohns, who had served as a national selector since 1993 and as chairman since 1996, said his decision had been prompted by the imminent retirement of his business partner.

“My business interests are now at the stage that they are going to require more of my attention and for this reason alone I have made the decision to move on,” Hohns said in a statement.—Reuters
